Au Canada, il existe diverses options de formation dans les domaines de la m\u00e9decine et des sciences en route vers une carri\u00e8re de clinicien-chercheur.<\/p>

Un itin\u00e9raire courant est le Programme de cliniciens-chercheurs (CIP)<\/strong> Ce programme est supervis\u00e9 par le Coll\u00e8ge royal des m\u00e9decins et chirurgiens du Canada. Dans le cadre de ce programme, les r\u00e9sidents en m\u00e9decine titulaires d'un doctorat en m\u00e9decine prennent une pause dans leur formation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e pour se consacrer \u00e0 la recherche. Cette formation compl\u00e9mentaire peut prendre la forme d'une ma\u00eetrise, d'un doctorat ou d'un stage postdoctoral (pour les stagiaires d\u00e9j\u00e0 titulaires d'un dipl\u00f4me de recherche). Clinician-investigator training in Canada In Canada, there are a variety of options for training in the realms of medicine and science en route to a career as a clinician-investigator. One common route is the Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) which is overseen by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In this program, medical residents who have already completed an MD degree take time away from medical specialty training to pursue research. This additional training may take the form of a Master\u2019s degree, PhD, or post-doctoral fellowship (for trainees who already hold research degrees). More information can be found here. Another common route is the MD\/PhD or MD\/MSc training programs, which are separately offered by many Faculties of Medicine across Canada. In these programs, students pursue the competition of an MD and graduate degree (MSc or PhD) concurrently. These programs vary remarkably in structure across the country. Finally, there are many trainees who pursue a clinician-investigator career without completing a formal dual training program.
